Leone-Campanella Piano Duo | Print |

The piano duo formed by Monica Leone and Michele Campanella has no official date of birth, being the natural development of the practice to play together between teacher and student before, between partners in music and in life then. It has been the result of a mentality and a shared approach to the piano from the beginning, both being inherited, at different times, to the principles of the school of Vincenzo Vitale.

The ever-expanding repertoire includes four hands and two pianos music, ranging from Bach to Bartók. To be underlined: the great project in the making of the integral of Schubert's music for four hands on CD.

The duo performed a significant number of concerts, in the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, the Sydney Opera House, the Coliseo in Buenos Aires, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, from the Settimana Musicale Senese to the Sagra Umbra, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, with the Orchestra of Tuscany in Florence, Chamber Orchestra of Padua and Veneto, Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan, Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti in Rome, the Teatro Massimo of Palermo, the Rossini Opera Festival, Auckland in New Zealand, Melbourne and Brisbane in Australia.

Monica Leone and Michele Campanella are piano teachers at Centro Studi pianistici Vincenzo Vitale, founded by Accademia Europea di Musica e Arti dello Spettacolo (AEMAS) and Università Suor Orsola Benincasa of Naples.
